Up until now, people have had very few options for correcting inverted nipples. The Reverter, available through Dr. Vinas at L.A. Vinas, is a device used invert nipples through treatments by using one stitch to permanently restore the nipple.
Inverted nipples can are a condition that may not only be bothersome to one’s appearance, but can also affect breastfeeding. The Reverter is a procedure that can be used by pregnant women in the first trimester to help provide the mother a chance to breastfeed when the baby is born. The Reverter also has a 100% success rate in non-expecting women, with every patient seeing inverted nipple results.
The Reverter procedure is done in the office with the patient under local anesthesia. Once the patient is anesthesized, the device is placed on the outside edge of the nipple, stitched to attach to the skin, and left for up to 5 days. During these days, daily activities can take place and normal clothing can be worn. After the waiting period, the stitch and device are removed and the results are that the nipple is restored from being invertedly on a permanent basis.
